# Assurance and receipts

Assurance means making AI work easier to inspect before and after an action.

## See what happened

A useful record identifies the source consulted, the model or tool used when known, the action prepared or taken, and the resulting state.

## Set what may happen

Permissions and approval boundaries should be visible before an action. Preparing a draft and publishing it are different permissions.

## Keep uncertainty visible

A receipt records available evidence; it is not proof that every source was complete, every conclusion was correct, or every risk was tested.

## Read a receipt

Check the source, action, permission, result, timestamp, and stated limits together. Missing fields should remain visible rather than being filled with guesses.
