# Natural Convection (Rayleigh/Grashof) Calculator implementation

A source-bound implementation contract for Natural Convection (Rayleigh/Grashof) Calculator; deployment and executable qualification remain separate.

Status: **VERIFIED_CLEAN**Lifecycle: **implementation-contract**

## Binding contract

This record describes what an executable surface must bind and validate. It does not claim that a public calculator, package, or production route is deployed.

**Record owner**: Guth Instruments

**Lifecycle**: verified-clean

**Evidence ID**: t7-062

**Effect**: Computation or source lookup only

## Input and validation requirements

The specification does not define invalid-input handling for zero viscosity, and the signed-temperature convention can produce a negative Rayleigh number that is invalid for fractional-power correlations unless an absolute-value convention is explicitly applied. The piecewise branch assumption also creates a discontinuous Nu result at Ra=10^9.

## Required corrections

No binding erratum is attached to this unique-name record. Implementers must still preserve the declared units, domain, and failure behavior.

## Inspectable interface fixture

The sample below is evidence for interface and validation tests, not a production implementation.

This is an edge case: the correlation returns a finite conduction-like Nu at Ra = 0, although there is no buoyancy-driven convection."
