Working browser surface: Field guides — documentation — Inspect the guide and persist local checkpoints. This route is local-only; provider, credential, database, customer, publication, deployment, and production effects remain held.

Authoritative tools lane tools and interfaces

Canonical tools-page assignments

  • Notebook Field Guides (interface · required) — Owns the procedure structure, prerequisites, ordered steps, related instruments, and review boundaries for the packet workflow.
  • Notebook Notes (interface · required) — Captures source-labelled excerpts, comparison observations, uncertainty markers, pins, tags, and revisions.
  • Notebook Files (interface · required) — Keeps local source references beside records and exposes type and size without implying upload or protected external storage.
  • Notebook Capture (interface · optional) — Prepares local photo, scan, video, or import records for review when a primary source is captured from a physical or local artifact; must not be treated as completed Vault storage.
  • Notebook Projects (interface · required) — Groups the packet, sources, notes, lesson pathway, and review work without implying an active project backend.
  • Notebook To-dos (interface · required) — Tracks source requests, transcription checks, comparison tasks, and review deadlines with explicit completion and hold states.
  • Notebook Approvals (interface · required) — Provides a human-controlled checkpoint for provenance, interpretation, uncertainty, and any proposed public-facing claim.
  • Notebook Search (interface · optional) — Finds locally indexed packet records and source labels while respecting private and held visibility.
  • PointGuard (interface · optional) — Carries the current inquiry context across Notebook surfaces; it is a context room, not the canonical owner of packet records.
  • source comparison skill (skill · required) — Structures comparison around explicit claims, evidence, context, agreement, conflict, and uncertainty; must not manufacture corroboration.
  • uncertainty marking skill (skill · required) — Labels missing provenance, ambiguous attribution, incomplete context, and unresolved conflicts rather than collapsing them into conclusions.
  • provenance record (record · required) — Preserves canonical ID, origin, source locator, source SHA-256 when available, revision, lifecycle, tags, links, attachments, and record revisions.

Only the page's admitted lane is rendered as an assignment. Other lane inventories remain source records but are not merged here. Tool kind and required/optional status are preserved.

Authoritative lane instrument assignments

An instrument listed only for another lane does not become a tools-page assignment.

Use boundary

  • A checksum can establish file equality but cannot establish authorship, accuracy, originality, or historical authenticity.
  • A source locator or named native surface does not prove that a connected web feature exists.
  • OCR, transcription, summarization, or comparison may omit context or reproduce source errors; retain the original reference and mark derived text.
  • Conflicting sources must not be resolved by majority count alone; preserve context and competing interpretations.
  • Do not expose private source files or personal information through public notes, search results, or lesson materials.
  • Do not convert educational interpretation into a public factual claim without human review and supporting provenance.
  • Do not treat PointGuard as the canonical record owner; specialist Notebook surfaces own execution and records.
  • Provider, credential, database, customer, publication, and production effects are held.
