Source-proposed guide paths are references, not proof that those paths resolve.

Operating sequence

  1. Capture the learner question, intended use, audience, level, and deadline.
  2. Confirm that each candidate source has an identifiable source record or mark it unavailable; never fabricate a primary source.
  3. Record source metadata, locator, provenance, excerpt, and revision information in Notebook.
  4. Extract claims separately from commentary, preserving quotations and locations where available.
  5. Normalize only for comparison purposes; retain the original wording and disclose material interpretation choices.
  6. Map comparable claims across sources and label agreement, contradiction, different scope, omission, or unresolved status.
  7. Record evidence gaps, disputed material, and confidence without converting uncertainty into fact.
  8. Draft a bounded learning path with prerequisites, questions for further inquiry, and explicit source links.
  9. Create review todos and route high-stakes instruction, student identity data, external enrollment, or published curriculum claims to human review.
  10. Save the comparison, receipts, revisions, and authority notes; present the result as a proposal until reviewed.

Handoff boundary

  • A secondary summary may be mistaken for a primary source.
  • Conflicting interpretations may be flattened into a false consensus.
  • Missing or inaccessible evidence may be mistaken for evidence of absence.
  • Tutoring language may be read as institutional, legal, medical, academic, or enrollment authority.
  • Student identity data may be captured unnecessarily or exposed in shared context.
  • High-stakes instruction may proceed without qualified human review.
  • Citation metadata may be incomplete, stale, or incorrectly attributed.
  • Local prototype routes may be mistaken for connected web features or publication surfaces.
  • Automated drafting may overstate confidence or conceal disputed evidence.
  • Deadline pressure may encourage skipping source verification and revision receipts.
